The food was so great! Our son has issues and they couldn't have been more kind. It was a beautiful day.
Really cool village where you meet the artisans who sell their goods. The artisans love to converse about their craft. Super unique place.
The area, the bridge, and the village are so beautiful and unique. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the histories and meeting the artisans that were there. Their skills amazed me. I WILL be returning at some point, probably more than once.
A variety of artisans on premises create many different items. The problem is knowing who will be "in" when you visit. There is a potter, a weaver, a woodworker, a jeweler, a metalworker, a quilter, and various guest artists. Some of the items are overpriced, but for hand-crafted artwork, most are within reasonable limits. The quilter makes a variety of other stitched items that have made excellent gifts (purses, table runners, etc.) on special order. Be sure to stop out back to get some soaps and herbal remedies from John at Fernwood . If the artisans aren't in, the gift shop has many of their best items. Have a meal in either restaurant on premises. Both have good food, but the lodge serves culturally-relevant dishes you should try at least once (sausages, cabbage rolls...)
Always a wonderful time. Good people. Good food.
